We Need You Now!  Volunteer Today!

Each and every day the Red Cross helps people in emergencies ...  from hundreds of disaster victims to one sick child who needs blood.  The vital role we play in helping those in need is only possible because of our volunteers.

Since its start, the American Red Cross has been a voluntary organization.  Ninety percent (90%) of the Red Cross workforce is made up of volunteers.  We could not provide the services we do without you, our friends and neighbors in the community.

Think you are too busy?  We're flexible!  We will work to fit your schedule.  We need people with your skills and interests.

The Red Cross will provide training for most volunteer positions.  Volunteers can be found at all levels of the Red Cross including board members, Health and Safety instructors, Disaster Relief volunteers, HIV/AIDS educators, administrative support personnel and donor registration volunteers at Bloodmobiles.

Our 'Everyday Heroes' come from all walks of life.  They are all ages.  Each and every one of them is greatly appreciated for the difference they make in the lives of people in need in Allegany County.  They care about their families, their communities and the Red Cross programs that make a difference in the lives of those who need it.
